Children are vaccinated with 72 shots now, up from 15 in 1962. each time you vaccinate, there's very very small chance to trigger an autoimmune disorder. the rise in vaccination and the sheer number of shots children get seems to correlate nicely. of course testing this hypothesis in humans would be unethical - so we'll never know if it's true.
